Delmar Online Training Simulation: HVAC provides a 3-D immersive simulation aiming to offer a comprehensive learning experience that simulates real-world field performance. The simulation is designed to challenge students in mastering diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across seven HVAC equipment pieces: Gas Furnace, Oil Furnace, Gas Boiler, Split Residential A/C, Commercial A/C, Heat Pumps, and Commercial Walk-in Freezers. With approximately 200 scenarios available, students have the opportunity to enhance their troubleshooting abilities and develop critical thinking skills. The simulation offers two modes to facilitate progressive learning: Training Mode and Challenge Mode. In Training Mode, users are presented with fixed scenarios that assist in familiarizing them with the equipment, identifying issues, and utilizing the simulation effectively. On the other hand, Challenge Mode presents randomized scenarios categorized into three levels—Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. To successfully complete each scenario in both modes, learners must diagnose faults and execute repairs while keeping track of material and labor costs. Soft skills are also incorporated within the simulation.
